Because I KNOW you were wondering...

Have you ever wondered where those cute little mandarin oranges in the cans come from? I mean, they are so adorable and delicious, and you just have to wonder if they picked oranges before they were ripe and sweetened them, or if they grew in a secret garden and were picked by quaint little elves wearing pointy slippers with bells on the toes.

Well, if you've ever wondered but have never wondered enough to google it, I am about to tell you the answer...

They come from China! That's why they're called Mandarin Oranges...because they speak Mandarin! Ni Hao!

And they are the easiest little oranges to peel. It just comes right off. They're like Fun Size Oranges! It's great. Really. Zhende!

And, totally off topic, but I have a quote of the week. I was helping the girls make Thanksgiving Costumes, and we started talking about food somehow. Manon said that G made women to cook better food, and made men to shoot better food.

I laughed for three days. Basically.

Speaking of laughing for a REALLY long time, a few months ago, Hannah and John were talking about livestock and John asked her about their milk cow. Hannah told him that she wasn't producing milk yet, but that before she left, they sent her to get bred. Stacy, Amanda, and I were sitting at the other end of the table, and weren't quite listening. We heard, "So we sent the cow to get bread," and I'm thinking about a black and white heifer marching down Main Street to pick up a loaf of whole wheat and a carton of O.J.... I was thinking about that in the MianBaoChe the other day, and started laughing again. Hannah laughed at me.

And another funny thing... someone was visiting the folks here a while back (before I came), and said "I don't know about you folks. All you ever talk about is 'gei woman, gei woman, neige, neige, neige...'" You figure it out. But it means "Give us, Give us, that, that, that." Literally, of course. I'd never really say that sentence. But for emphasis, you know...

Anyway, that my little just so you know update. And Just so you know, I'll probably try to tell you all these stories in person when I get back. It would help if you would just smile and nod and laugh at the right parts, that would be great. It would go a long way to make me happy. And assuage my ego....
