"Meiguode lajiao"
So our last English class was Thursday, and we wanted to go out with a night of fun. We treated the students to an American meal. David helped grill hamburgers, and Esther, Deborah, and Naomi learned how to make home fries! Ruth and Sarah wandered from the grill to the hot plates and helped where they could.

The meal was a hit. I brought out some Tony Chachero's Creole Seasoning (thanks Mom) and told them that it was "Meiguode lajiao," or "American Spicy Stuff."

For dessert, we made Snickerdoodles, and it was fun watching David bake! And Naomi was scared of the mixer, and it took her a while to be able to hold it! But we made a pan full of cookies, and the few that didn't get eaten went home with the students. Then, we watched Wall-E until curfew. I'm not sure they liked it, because it doesn't have a lot of talking...
They had a great time, and so did I. But, I can also honestly say that I'm glad it's over. Life is CRAZY BUSY here!

And I don't think I have ever heard of that spice before...
