Tigers Leaping! It's a Gorge!

As some of you know, and some of you don't, I recently joined my team members on a trip to beautiful Lijiang for the weekend. (As a disclaimer, these pictures came for a couple websites, and not my camera. It was about a thousand times easier. My own pictures will come in the next three weeks or so.)
Lijiang is a gorgeous city. The ancient parts of it, some dating back to the Ming Dynasty, have been preserved, and you can walk the same streets that have been walked for hundreds of years. And you can take pony rides through the streets while every one stares and takes pictures and videos of you like you're the queen. (True story!) Our team was glad for the travel and site-seeing and shopping, and we enjoyed our last days trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Although the Wild China video series makes the Gorge seem much cooler than it actually was, we still had fun. It was about a mile or two walk to the observation point where you could see Tiger Rock. Legend has it that a clever tiger leapt from one side of the gorge to the rock, to the other side without touching water. Hence the name. It was mostly fun to walk around and take pictures in front of all the signs that asked us in poor English not to stop and take pictures. We did that a lot. Manon protested that we were breaking the rules, but we did it anyway! So here are a few pictures that other people took of Lijiang and Tiger Leaping Gorge. The last one is of Tiger Rock, and if you look closely, you can see the observation deck on the other side of the gorge where we stood and took our team picture which I have not posted!

And just so you aren't on the edges of your seats for two weeks, this might very well be the last post I have time for until I arrive home. The next two weeks are very busy with holidays and traveling, and this coming Sunday, I will forfeit my daily computer access as I return to HK. So, drink it in, because next time you may be hearing from me in person!
