A day at the Spa...

So as a thank you for taking care of her kids while she was in Thailand, Stacy took Hannah, Germaine and me to a local massage place for foot massages. I liked it as soon as we walked in, because the logo was a foot that looked like a woman wearing a cape, and her hair is red circles... But I was also a little terrified. You see, I once witnessed a Chinese foot massage while watching the Amazing Race, and those people were crying and screaming and begging for mercy, and I could tell it was painful. I wasn't too excited about experiencing the same pain.

But as you can see here, we had nothing to worry about. The worst part was how ticklish you were, and I found out that Stacy if definitely the most ticklish of us all! I was also the only one of us that had a girl doing the massaging, and Hannah found the whole experience to be a little awkward. They started with the hands and arms, and I'd never had anyone massage my hand before, at least not so thoroughly... They soaked our feet in hot tea, which was a little frightening at first because I didn't know it was tea, and it looked like sewage water... But it turned out to be tea, and was a really nice feeling, all that hot water and stuff. I could use a hot foot soak more often! They rubbed our feet and calves, which is what I had experienced in America, but then, they moved on... They did this galloping horse thing with cuffed hands up and down our legs, and put on lotion and wrapped our feet in towels. But when that was done, the real fun began...They turned us over for the rest of the full body massage we didn't know we had requested! They reclined our chairs, except Hannah's and mine didn't recline, so we were taken to another room with beds that had those holes in them for breathing and told to lie on our stomachs. Then they karate chopped, horse galloped, rubbed, poked, prodded, and many other things every inch of our backs...including but not limited to our necks, shoulders, mid-back, derriere, thighs, calves, feet... Well, okay, limited to those because there are no other parts of the back! It all felt good except for the part on the derriere...and I was laughing hysterically the whole time. Hannah felt violated, and I have to admit it was pretty weird! But the best part came at the end, with the hot rocks massage. I have got to get me some of those! They rubbed a canvas bag of hot rocks all over you and then let it rest at certain points, like the bottoms of your feet (amazing) and your shoulders and of course your derriere. But then Stacy asked to see hers, and we put them behind our necks and it felt amazing. I wonder if I can get one of those for the plane... I'd say, all in all, it was a fun day, and an interesting experience. And we got it all for about 10 bucks...
